  The rental experience was fine, but the policy of giving people 29 mins courtesy instead of 1 hour makes no sense! Then you get charged for another full day. Why?

  My wife and I rented a vehicle during our honeymoon back in October. Upon returning the vehicle the attendant was very rude and was saying we didn't fill the tank exactly to the full line and then proceeded to nitpick every square inch of the car and said we were hit on the lower rear section of the bumper. The car already had damages from the previous customers but I never took pictures or video of the car before driving off the lot so I'm stuck having to pay for the damages. This is the first time I've ever rented with National and it definitely will be the last. This experience was the only negative part of our honeymoon.

  I booked an emerald isle car and a car seat for my 1 year old. I received the car seat and went to the only car in the emerald isle. After checking the car seat my wife realized that the car seat did not include the small installation level that confirms if the seat is installed properly. We returned the seat and received a new one and we were informed we could take a car in the executive isle which was very nice. My wife looked at the new car seat and again this was missing the level. I was told by an employee that the new car seats don't have the level which is simply not true and the instructions on the car seat also state otherwise. My wife got a third seat and this seat did not have the level and the buckle was broken. The fourth seat we received also did not have a level but the buckle worked and there were no more car seats so we took that one as we had already been trying to figure out a solution for an hour at the point. I don't know if the seat was installed properly but we tried to make due. National took this charge off our rental when we returned the vehicle. Overall I wish National would replace their seats with one's that can be installed safely. It didn't seem like this was a priority for anyone at the location. I will bring my car seat from home next time. I rented this for convenience and regretted it. I appreciate the upgrade and the removal of the car seat rental fee but safety is a higher priority and I hope someone who reads this is willing to fix the problem as I didn't get the feeling that anyone at the location that we spoke to will fix it.

  AS easy as it gets: lots of choice despite arriving late Friday afternoon. Vehicle was in great shape: a couple of minutes to get the paper work done and off. Return was just as easy and done in less than 5 minutes. I will continue to use National as they don't try to upsell or push additional features. Note: I am in the emerald club and I recommend people to join it.
