I popped on google to get the phone # to make a reservation and was surprised to see a 3.7 rating. I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and each and every time been more than satisfied. Making a reservation now and looking forward to another good meal!

Since each of us had ordered various steaks on the menu and at different temperatures, a little wait in order for the kitchen to prepare everything to our exact requests was expected. What was unexpected was the 1 hour wait between the appetizers and our main dishes. The inefficiency of the kitchen is inexcusable. Despite decent flavours and steaks cooked to our liking, the extensive wait wore down our enjoyment of the meal. Although desserts came a little faster, there was still a longer wait than expected. At the end of our dinner experience we were quite ready to pay our bill and head home, but to our frustration, our server had all but disappeared only to reappear after another 10 minute wait when we had already called another server to get us the bill.

Terrible service! Got a ceaser with orange juice in it. My wild rice tasted like soap and my prime rib was well done when I asked for Med-rare. Watched the super-bowl and had service every half hr. Never going back!

The annual Vancouver Dine-Out event was in full force allowing most guests simple options to select for their $40 3-course meals. Upon seating, drinks came at lightening speeds which gave great hope for a pleasant evening. The appetizers followed shortly after orders were put in, simple soups and salads were placed in front of us and dinner began. To my disappointment, the Caesar Salad seemed more like Caesar dressing with a side of lettuce to go with it, not what I expected from Chop. However, the flavour was decent and the horseradish gave the dressing a nice kick which was appreciated. As the appetizers were consumed, our server graciously came and removed our empty dishes to make room for the main course.

Disappointing. Chop Steakhouse has made its name as the signature restaurant housed at the Sandman hotel. But a restaurant is only as good as its kitchen is able to handle the stress of filling orders rapidly to satisfy customers in a timely fashion. In this regard, Chop fails miserably. My last visit here with family and friends left a dismal impression on their snail crawl service. Although they made an effort to redeem themselves with complimentary desserts, the sweets failed to impress our table who were quite tired of waiting. Despite a poor experience on that previous occasion, I thought I'd give them another chance to prove themselves, so a reservation was made for a family dinner.

Over all, the food is mediocre at best for the price ($6 to add a side of sauteed mushrooms I could have made at home is a bit much). The consistency of incredibly long wait times will definitely make me think twice about returning to Chop Steakhouse again.

Great place to dine. Staff r friendly and food is great. Parking sucks tho as you have to share with gym/hotel ppl. They have late night happy hour from 2100-0030. The best part bout CHOP to me is it closes at 0100 even on weekdays. Perfect for late workers and other ppl with second jobs.

Very upscale and classy place. The food was great and the drinks were good too. Considering the kind of restaraunt that this is, the food and drink prices were not too outrageous, definitely more reasonable than say Earls or cactus club, for example. The service that we had was excellent, and we had a small group that was meeting, so we had one of their private rooms. It was my first time here, and I was pretty impressed with my experience. I will most definitely return in the future.
